Understanding Webteic modules
Webteic uses a modular structure that allows you to build the type of website or platform you need without installing unnecessary features.
Modules can be selected during the initial platform installation. Additional modules can also be installed later through the Modules List in the Admin Dashboard.
Each module adds its own administration tools and public or member-facing features. Modules can also work together, allowing content, payments and community features to be shared across the platform.
Webteic 1.0 includes modules for Blog, Events, Groups, Memberships, Payments, Projects and Store.
Blog
The Blog module provides the publishing tools needed for news, articles, announcements and other regularly updated content.
Administrators can create and manage posts, categories and tags. Posts can include images, publication dates and scheduled publishing. Comments can be enabled or disabled, with additional controls available for member access.
The public Blog includes post listings, categories, recent posts and individual article pages.
When Groups is installed, the Blog can also be made available within group communities. Group administrators can then publish content for their own members, while platform administrators can publish content more widely.
Events
The Events module allows administrators to create and manage online or in-person events.
Events can include dates, times, locations, images, descriptions and booking information. Administrators can organise events into categories and review attendee bookings from the Admin Dashboard.
Supported features include:
-
Free or paid tickets.
-
Multiple ticket types.
-
Booking limits and event capacity.
-
Attendee records.
-
Event income and booking statistics.
-
Public event listings and calendars.
Events can work with the Payments module for paid bookings. They can also be enabled for Groups or approved vendor companies, allowing those organisations to create and manage their own events.
Groups
The Groups module provides community and organisation spaces within the Webteic platform.
Each group can have its own profile, branding, contact information, members and administrators. Groups can be displayed through public listings and an interactive map, making it possible for visitors to find organisations or communities by location.
Other modules can be enabled within Groups, including:
-
Blog
-
Events
-
Memberships
-
Projects
-
Store
This allows each group to operate its own community area while remaining part of the wider platform.
Group administrators can manage their own group and its enabled content through the Members Dashboard. Content can be public, restricted to an individual group or shared more widely by a platform administrator.
Memberships
The Memberships module is used to create and manage free or paid membership plans.
Membership plans can be offered for a single term or as recurring subscriptions. Administrators can monitor active memberships, upcoming expirations, pending applications and recurring payments from the Admin Dashboard.
Plans can include different prices, durations and access levels. Booking approval can also be enabled when membership applications need to be reviewed before becoming active.
Members can purchase available plans and review their subscriptions through the Members Dashboard.
Memberships can also be connected to Groups and company accounts. Group administrators may be allowed to create their own plans, while companies can purchase memberships and allocate available places to members of their team.
Payments
The Payments module provides the shared payment and order system used by other Webteic modules.
It supports payment-enabled features within:
-
Events
-
Memberships
-
Store
Administrators can configure currencies and supported payment services, review completed orders and access module-specific payment records.
The Payments module also supports customer and company information, order confirmations, receipts and PDF invoices. Members can review their own orders and download available invoices from the Members Dashboard.
By using one shared payment system, Webteic keeps orders from different modules together while still allowing administrators to view Event, Membership and Store transactions separately.
Projects
The Projects module provides a structured way to publish and organise projects.
Projects can include an image, category, summary, detailed content and additional sections. This makes the module suitable for project showcases, portfolios, programmes, case studies and other structured collections of information.
Administrators can manage project records, categories and settings through the Admin Dashboard. Each project receives its own public page containing the information and media added to it.
Projects can also be associated with companies or Groups. When enabled for Groups, group administrators can create and manage projects for their own community.
Store
The Store module provides ecommerce tools for selling products, digital items and services.
Administrators can create and manage product or service listings, organise them into categories, set prices and control available quantities. Listings can include descriptions, images, galleries, options and other relevant product information.
The Store supports different types of offerings, including:
-
Physical products.
-
Digital downloads.
-
Service packages.
-
Free or paid listings.
-
Private or restricted products.
Customers can browse Store listings, add suitable items to their cart and complete checkout through the Payments module. Members can also access their orders, receipts and invoices through the Members Dashboard.
Store management includes order and shipping tools, sales information and product statistics.
The Store can also support vendor companies. Approved vendor administrators can create their own products or services and review the resulting orders and sales without receiving access to the main Admin Dashboard.
Using modules together
Webteic modules are designed to work independently or as part of a larger platform.
For example:
-
A publishing website may only need Blog.
-
A membership organisation could combine Groups, Memberships, Events and Blog.
-
A marketplace could combine Store, Payments and vendor companies.
-
A community network could give each Group its own Blog, Events, Projects, Memberships and Store content.
-
A company platform could sell Memberships or services and allocate them to company team members.
You can begin with only the modules needed for the initial website and add more as the platform develops.
Managing installed modules
Installed modules appear in the Admin Dashboard sidebar under System Modules.
Each module has its own content-management screens and Settings area. Administrators should review these settings after installation to decide how the module will operate, which member roles can access it and whether it should be available to Groups or vendor companies.
The Modules List can be used to review installed modules and add other available modules later.
This modular approach allows Webteic to support anything from a straightforward website to a larger community, membership or commerce platform without changing the underlying CMS.
